Hannah van Zanten

Hannah van Zanten is an Associate Professor at Wageningen University's Farming Systems Ecology group and a Visiting Professor at Cornell University's Department of Global Development. She holds a PhD from Wageningen University (2009) and has led research on circular food systems, sustainable livestock farming, and agroecology. Her work focuses on integrating environmental and nutritional aspects of food systems through decision models.

Education: MSc (cum laude) and PhD (cum laude) in Animal Sciences from Wageningen University. Awards include the NWO Talent Scheme grant (2021) and the Global FoodShot Prize (2021). She advises PhD students on projects like regenerative dairy farming in the Netherlands and sustainable diets in Tanzania.
