Hannah Scupham is a Lecturer at the University of Kansas, specializing in British literature, the nineteenth-century novel, and popular romance studies. Her research integrates affect theory and postcritique to explore reader responses, the Victorian marriage plot, and contemporary reimaginings of Victorian narratives through romance fiction. She has published in the Gaskell Journal and the Wilkie Collins Journal, with work recognized by the Joan Leach Memorial Graduate Student Essay Prize and the Romance Writers of America Academic Research Grant.
