Hannah McCollam is a Lecturer in the Department of Anthrozoology at Beacon College. She holds a Master of Science in Anthrozoology from Canisius University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Eckerd College.
- Research focuses on conservation psychology, cross-cultural conservation, and human-horse relationships.
- Expertise includes psychological and sociological influences on animal care fields and marine mammal biology.
Prior to Beacon College, she worked as a marine mammal caretaker for seven years, caring for bottlenose dolphins, rough-toothed dolphins, seals, sea lions, penguins, belugas, and Pacific white-sided dolphins. She also has experience in equine care, welfare, and ownership, and travels internationally to study cross-cultural human-animal dynamics.
