
Hannah Goodwin

Hannah Goodwin is an Associate Professor of Film and Media Studies at Mount Holyoke College, holding the Nexus Track Chair for Journalism, Media, and Public Discourse. Her work bridges film/media studies with science and technology studies. She earned a Ph.D. and M.A. from UC Santa Barbara and a B.A. from Carleton College (2010), followed by a Fulbright grant at the University of Vienna (2010–2011).
Research focuses on intersections between cosmological and cinematic temporalities, with recent work examining social media censorship in Mongolia, Turkey, and Zambia. Her 2024 book Stardust: Cinematic Archives at the End of the World explores 20th-century entanglements of cinema and astrophysics. She co-edits Media Fields journal and organized the 'Mediating Deep Time' conference at UCSB (202X), addressing climate change and long-term media perspectives.
