Hannah Gommerstadt

Hannah Gommerstadt is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Vassar College, where she has been teaching since 2019. Her office is located in Sanders Physics 305, and she can be reached at hgommerstadt@vassar.edu.

Education:

• B.A. in Computer Science and Mathematics from Harvard University
• M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University

Research Interests focus on the intersection of programming languages and security, emphasizing language-based and logic-based techniques to ensure formal security guarantees. Her work explores session-typed concurrent systems, secure communication protocols, and formal verification.

Recent Publications include studies on session-typed concurrent contracts and blame assignment mechanisms in higher-order session types, reflecting her commitment to advancing secure programming paradigms.

Teaching includes courses like CMPU 331: Compilers, CMPU 145: Foundations of Computer Science, and CMPU 102: Data Structures and Algorithms. She integrates practical and theoretical aspects of computer science into her pedagogy.
