Hannah Dickson is a Senior Lecturer at King’s College London, based in the Department of Forensic and Neurodevelopmental Sciences within the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. Her research focuses on examining links between child and adolescent mental health, education, and crime, with a particular emphasis on schizophrenia risk profiles and forensic psychology. She is also engaged in pedagogic research on assessment and feedback in higher education. Hannah leads teaching modules such as the Clinical Forensic Psychology MSc and the 'Applied Forensic Psychology' undergraduate course, and holds a Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (2021).
Her research interests include meta-analyses of schizophrenia risk factors, educational predictors of youth offending, and neurocognitive performance in clinical high-risk populations. Notable projects include studies on administrative data linkage to explore educational and social care trajectories of offending, and collaborations on EEG exponents in early brain development. She co-leads projects funded by ESRC, NIHR, and the Waterloo Foundation.
Key publications highlight her work on childhood risk profiles for schizophrenia, systematic reviews of EEG development, and qualitative analyses of mental health needs in educational settings. Her work spans criminology, psychiatry, and neuroscience, with a focus on translating research into policy and practice.
