Hannah Bücheler serves as a Doctoral Candidate and Research Associate at the University of Hohenheim, affiliated with the Department of Societal Transition and Agriculture and the Department of Ecological-Economic Policy Modelling. She contributes to the BEATLE research project assessing agricultural policy pathways toward biodiversity-friendly land use and food systems through stakeholder collaboration and scenario development.
Her educational background includes:
- M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics, University of Hohenheim (2019-2022)
- Joint B.A. in Political and Economic Sciences, Technical University of Darmstadt (2015-2019)
- Semester abroad at University of Orleans, France (2017)
Bücheler's research examines stakeholder integration in agricultural transformation, analyzing governmental and non-governmental strategies for biodiversity conservation. Her work emphasizes transdisciplinary approaches, non-state policy instruments, and integrative scenario development to address land-use conflicts in food systems.
Her 2024 publication in Ecosystems and People investigates private biodiversity financing through wildflower strips, revealing stakeholder governance challenges and opportunities. This reflects her broader focus on innovative policy mechanisms that bridge public regulation and private sector initiatives in sustainable agriculture.
Within the BEATLE project, Bücheler leads stakeholder engagement across governance levels and co-develops transformation scenarios for biodiversity-friendly agriculture. Her methodological approach combines qualitative policy analysis with participatory scenario planning to address real-world implementation barriers.
