Hannah Brooks is an Adjunct Faculty member and Program Coordinator for Printmaking at Montserrat College of Art, where she also manages the Digital Fabrication Studio and serves as Games, Toys, and Play Technician. Her interdisciplinary practice bridges print-media, sculpture, textiles, and conceptual writing to interrogate contemporary societal structures.
Her academic training includes:
- BFA in drawing, painting, and printmaking from Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design at Georgia State University
- MFA in Interdisciplinary Studio from School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University
Brooks' research centers on feminist critiques of Americana through darkly humorous examinations of consumption, identity, and machine-human relationships. She deconstructs middle-class suburban aesthetics (e.g., Gap Factory apparel) to expose societal contradictions, blending traditional craft techniques with digital fabrication to create conceptually layered works that challenge passive engagement with everyday objects and norms.
As Digital Fabrication Studio Manager, Brooks provides critical technical infrastructure for student projects, facilitating the translation of conceptual ideas into physical forms through advanced manufacturing tools while maintaining connections to handcraft traditions within the printmaking and sculpture programs.
