Hanna Trzeciakiewicz

Hanna Trzeciakiewicz, PhD, is a Researcher at Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine, affiliated with the Translational Neuroscience Department and the Kanaan Lab. Her work focuses on tau protein mechanisms in neurodegenerative diseases. She joined MSU in May 2022.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree from Oakland University (tau protein misfolding/aggregation studies)
• PhD from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (tau PTMs and disease progression)
• NINDS T32 Fellowship at University of Michigan (tau quality control mechanisms)

Research Interests: Investigating tau-interacting proteins, PTM signatures for tau-mediated disorders, and mechanisms linking tau dysfunction to Alzheimer’s/related dementias. Current goals include identifying biomarkers for tauopathies.

Labs/Teams: Active member of the Kanaan Lab, collaborating on translational neuroscience projects.
