معرفی
Hanna Algora is a Doctoral Student at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence in collaboration with the University of Oulu, Finland. Her primary affiliation is with the Behavioural Genetics and Evolutionary Ecology department at the Max Planck Institute, where she investigates the evolutionary and ecological dynamics of Calidris pugnax (ruffs) as part of a cross-institutional project.
Education:
- B.Sc in Biology (specialized in Biodiversity and Conservation), Universitat de València, Spain (2012–2016)
- Master’s in Evolution, Ecology, and Systematics, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, Germany (2016–2019)
- PhD in Progress, University of Oulu (since 2020)
Research Focus: Her work bridges evolutionary biology, movement ecology, and conservation genetics to analyze how Alternative Reproductive Tactics (ARTs) are maintained in wild ruff populations. She uses GPS tracking and genetic analysis to study morph-dependent mobility patterns and their role in fitness compensation.
Collaboration and Conservation: The project is a joint effort between the University of Oulu and the Max Planck Institute, with fieldwork in Liminganlahti, Finland. Despite being globally stable, ruffs are endangered in Finland, making this research critical for species conservation and habitat management.
