Her work bridges language education and interdisciplinary research in pharmacoepidemiology. She is based in Williams Hall and can be reached at hanhviet@upenn.edu.
Her research focuses on drug safety, deprescribing strategies, and clinical outcomes in vulnerable populations such as older adults and patients with neurodegenerative diseases. Key areas include analyzing drug-drug interactions, optimizing medication management, and evaluating pharmacotherapy impacts on cardiovascular, neurological, and geriatric conditions.
Recent work examines the safety implications of anticoagulants, antipsychotics, and antimuscarinic agents, with a focus on real-world data harmonization and methodological innovations in pharmacoepidemiology. Her studies often employ advanced analytical frameworks like self-controlled case series and target trial emulation.
Nguyen has collaborated across disciplines to address healthcare coordination challenges in deprescribing scenarios and spatial disparities in specialty care access for neurodegenerative disorders. Her publications span 15+ peer-reviewed articles since 2013, reflecting sustained engagement with critical issues in clinical pharmacology and health informatics.
