Hana Vrdoljak

Hana Vrdoljak is a doctoral researcher at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) within the Graduiertenkolleg 2726 program titled 'Das Sentimentale in Literatur, Kultur und Politik,' coordinated by the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology. She earned her M.A. in Interamerican Studies (The Americas/Las Américas) in 2022 and a B.A. in English and American Studies and French Philology in 2019.

• Research Interests: Hip Hop Studies, Sentimentality and Affect, Interamerican Studies, African American and Latinx Cultures, Working-Class Narratives, Gender and Feminist Theory.

Her dissertation project, Hip Hop Sentimentality, explores intersections of affect, race, gender, and class in Hip Hop. She has presented at conferences such as the DGfA/GAAS Annual Meeting and EAAS Conference, focusing on topics like prison abolitionism, Black feminism, and immigrant narratives in Hip Hop.

As a tutor for the 'Basismodul The Americas/Las Américas' and community workshop leader, she bridges academic and public engagement through topics like Black Activism in Rap Music.
