معرفی
Hana Malá Rytter is an Associate Professor in Cognitive Neuropsychology at the Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen. Her work focuses on brain organization and reorganization in response to injury and rehabilitation. She has extensive expertise in modeling cognitive functions using animal models and has supervised numerous research projects as part of the Unit for Cognitive Neuroscience (UCN).
- Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen
- Member of Center for Integrative Cognitive Neuroscience (CInCoN)
- Member of GLUTARGET, Centre of Excellence
- Collaboration with BRAINlab and various clinical departments
Hana's research centers on neuroplasticity and functional organization of the brain, with particular interest in posttraumatic recovery of cognitive impairment. Her work spans both basic science investigating brain mechanisms and applied science developing rehabilitation techniques for brain injury patients. She examines both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches to support cognitive recovery, with special focus on spatial memory, problem solving, and executive functioning.
Her recent publications (2024-2025) show a strong emphasis on concussion management, post-concussion syndrome, and long-term outcomes after brain injury. These works bridge neuroscience with practical rehabilitation applications, addressing both adult and pediatric populations. Her research increasingly incorporates interdisciplinary approaches, examining the social, occupational, and psychological dimensions of recovery alongside neurological factors.
- Grant: 'Brain concussion without end' project (3.1M DKK)
- Grant: 'Social cognition and communication' project (6.033M DKK)
- Post-doctoral fellowship from Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada
Hana actively supervises bachelor's and master's theses in cognitive psychology and neuropsychology. Her research has been supported by significant grants focusing on brain injury rehabilitation. She serves as Chair of the Expert Committee for the Association of Brain Injured in Denmark and has contributed to health technology assessments for Danish authorities. Her work bridges laboratory research with clinical applications, particularly in developing evidence-based rehabilitation protocols.
She is actively involved with the Unit for Cognitive Neuroscience (UCN) and Center for Integrative Cognitive Neuroscience (CInCoN). Her research collaborations extend to GLUTARGET Centre of Excellence, BRAINlab, and multiple clinical departments including the Center for Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Department of Neurology, and Traumatic Brain Injury Unit at Copenhagen University hospitals.
