Dr. Han Liang is a Barnhart Family Distinguished Professor in Targeted Therapies and Deputy Chair of the Department of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He also holds professor appointments in the Department of Systems Biology at MD Anderson and is a Faculty Member at Baylor College of Medicine. His research spans bioinformatics tool development, cancer systems biology, and integrated genomic analysis.

- Postdoctoral Training in Evolutionary and Computational Genomics, University of Chicago
Dr. Liang's work focuses on RNA regulation/modification, enhancer regulation, functional proteomics, and cancer driver mutations. His research has garnered international attention, including coverage in The Wall Street Journal and Newsweek. His lab's bioinformatics tools (TCPA, TANRIC, FASMIC, DrBioRight) serve over 110,000 active users globally.
Scientific leadership includes chairing The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) PanCanAtlas working groups, co-leading the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) Pan-Cancer Whole Genome Analysis Project, and co-chairing the NCI Genomic Data Commons (GDC) QC working group. His accolades include the AACR Team Science Award (2020) and the UT System STARS Award (2015).
