Hamparsum Bozdogan is the McKenzie Professor in Business at the University of Tennessee's Haslam College of Business, specializing in Business Analytics and Statistics. His research focuses on information complexity measures, model selection, and high-dimensional statistical modeling.
Education includes a Ph.D. in Mathematics from University of Illinois at Chicago (1981), M.S. in Mathematics from University of Illinois at Chicago (1978), and B.S. in Mathematics from University of Wisconsin (1970).
Research develops innovative statistical methods including the ICOMP (Information Complexity) criterion for model selection, with applications in machine learning, data mining, and high-dimensional data analysis. Work bridges statistical theory and computational methods for complex data structures.
Honors include multiple teaching awards and research fellowships. Recognized for contributions to statistical modeling and information-theoretic approaches to complexity.
