Hamidreza Sharifan

Hamidreza Sharifan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), College of Science. He previously served as an assistant professor at Albany State University and completed postdoctoral research at UC Davis and Colorado State University, focusing on PFAS fate, greenhouse gas emissions from engineered systems, and contaminant dynamics in wastewater, compost, and dairy digesters.

His research integrates environmental chemistry, nanotechnology, and phytoremediation. Key areas include PFAS mitigation, nanoparticle interactions with heavy metals, and innovative solutions for water and soil pollution.
