Associate Professor Hamid Khayyam is affiliated with the School of Engineering at RMIT University, where he holds the rank of Associate Professor. He earned his B.Sc. (Hons.) from the University of Isfahan, M.Sc. from Iran University of Science and Technology, and Ph.D. from Deakin University. His research focuses on integrating Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning into complex engineering systems, particularly in energy systems, autonomous vehicles, and Industry 4.0 applications.
Key achievements include over $9.92 million in grants, recognition as a Top 2% World Scientist by Stanford University/Elsevier (2019–2023), and leadership in supervising 14 successful Ph.D. graduates. He currently mentors 12 Ph.D. students and two research fellows. Professional roles include senior IEEE membership, editorial roles in IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and Sustainability, and organizing international conferences.
Research interests span energy efficiency, autonomous systems, and smart control technologies. His work addresses challenges in electric vehicles, battery management, intelligent transportation systems, and industrial automation. Collaborations include institutions like The Ohio State University, National University of Singapore, and FH Aachen.
