Halyna Anatoliivna Syhyda

Halyna Anatoliivna Syhyda is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Ukrainian Studies and General Language Preparation within the Humanities Faculty at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University. With a background in history and social studies, she has dedicated her academic career to exploring Ukraine's rich historical and cultural heritage, particularly focusing on economic and social developments in Southern Ukraine during the 19th century.

Dr. Syhyda graduated from Voronezh State University's Faculty of History in 1989 with a specialty in "history and social studies." Her academic journey has positioned her as a knowledgeable educator in Ukrainian history and cultural studies.

Her research interests center on the economic history of Southern Ukraine in the first half of the 19th century, with particular emphasis on merchant class development, commercial networks, and the social structures that shaped regional development. Her scholarly work demonstrates a strong focus on the merchant class of Southern Ukraine, examining their economic activities, domestic culture, and relationship with state regulation during the 19th century. She has also explored broader cultural topics including Ukrainian cultural history, Shakespeare's influence in world art, and Greco-Scythian artifacts.

Dr. Syhyda's extensive publication record from 2014-2020 reveals a researcher deeply engaged with both historical scholarship and educational methodology. While her scholarly articles focus primarily on 19th century Ukrainian economic and social history, she has also made significant contributions to pedagogical literature, developing numerous methodological guidelines for teaching Ukrainian history and cultural studies.
