Halvard Nikolai Grendstad

Halvard Nikolai Grendstad is a PhD student and Researcher at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, Institute of Physical Performance. His work focuses on exercise physiology, growth and maturation in children, and youth sports training.

• Education: Master's degree from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim.
• Prior Roles: Lecturer and researcher at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Bergen; fitness coach in football and youth sports coach.

His primary research explores how growth, maturation, and training during puberty affect physical performance and health in youth athletes. Current projects include "Growth, Maturation, and Training during Puberty."

His scientific work spans maximal oxygen uptake, skeletal maturity, cardiovascular adaptations, and injury prevention in youth sports. Publications appear in Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports, PLOS ONE, and Frontiers in Sports and Active Living, with recurring themes in soccer, track and field, and youth athletic development.
