Halil Hacimüftüoğlu

Halil Hacimüftüoğlu serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Basic Islamic Sciences at Gaziantep University's Faculty of Theology. He has held this position since 2011 and teaches across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs with extensive course offerings in Quranic studies, Tafsir methodologies, and Islamic sciences. His academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Theology from Ankara University (1990-1995), followed by a Master's (2003-2006) and Doctorate (2007-2010) in Tafsir from the same institution.

Hacimüftüoğlu's research centers on Quranic exegesis with particular expertise in Tafsir methodologies, Quranic linguistics, and comparative analysis of commentaries. His work explores Quranic terminology, translation challenges, and semantic structures within Islamic sacred texts. He has published extensively on these topics, examining concepts like Furqan, divine sovereignty, and calendar references in the Quran through both book publications and scholarly articles.

His scholarly output reveals a consistent focus on methodological approaches to Quranic interpretation, with recent publications (2022-2024) addressing contemporary issues in Quran translation, semantic analysis, and classical commentary texts. The research demonstrates deep engagement with both traditional Islamic scholarship and modern linguistic approaches to Quranic studies.

Hacimüftüoğlu has supervised 17 graduate theses (2 doctoral and 15 master's) on diverse topics within Quranic studies, including thematic analyses of specific surahs, comparative Tafsir methodologies, and linguistic examinations of Quranic concepts. His editorial work includes contributions to the Gaziantep University Theology Academy Journal.

Professional activities include participation in national workshops organized by the Presidency of Religious Affairs on Quran translation methods and prophethood studies. Prior to his university appointment, he served as a Religious Culture and Ethics teacher at the Ministry of National Education from 1995-2011.
