Hale Karakaş

Professor Hale Karakaş is a faculty member at the Department of Textile Engineering, Istanbul Technical University (ITU). Her research focuses on nanofibers, biomedical applications, and sustainable textile materials. She has led 6 major projects including the development of antimicrobial nanofibers and composite materials for drug delivery systems.

• UTŞB R&D Project Market Award (2016)

Her work spans electrospinning technology, polymer science, and textile innovation. Recent projects include producing nanocomposite structures using in situ polymerization and creating nonwoven automotive materials from recycled PET fibers.
