Hakan Erkol is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head of the Department of Physics at Boğaziçi University. He holds a PhD (2009) and MS (2003) in Physics from Boğaziçi University, and a BS (2000) in Physics from Yıldız Technical University. His research focuses on theoretical physics applied to biomedical engineering, particularly in medical physics, photoacoustic imaging, and laser therapy. He has contributed to advancements in acoustic force modeling, photoacoustic wave analysis, and photothermal therapy planning. His work bridges fundamental physics with practical medical applications, including imaging technologies and therapeutic systems.
