معرفی
Hajime Kaji is a Professor at the Department of Mathematics, School of Fundamental Science and Engineering, Waseda University. He holds a Doctor of Science from Waseda University and has been affiliated there since 1999.
- Research Focus: Algebraic Geometry, Projective Geometry, Gauss Maps in positive characteristic, Secant Varieties, Homogeneous Projective Varieties.
- Education: Master of Science (1987) and Doctor of Science (1993) from Waseda University.
Kaji's research specializes in projective algebraic geometry, particularly Gauss maps and their separability in positive characteristic, and secant varieties of homogeneous projective varieties like adjoint and Freudenthal varieties. His work connects Lie algebra gradations with geometric properties of varieties and explores pathologies in positive characteristic.
Publications include degree formulas for Grassmann bundles, studies on tangentially degenerate curves, and orbit decompositions of secant varieties. He has extensively investigated the relationship between Gauss map separability and reflexivity, providing counterexamples in positive characteristic.
Teaching Activities encompass graduate and undergraduate courses in algebraic geometry, mathematics, and applied mathematics at Waseda University, with seminars and research projects spanning 2025.
Professional Contributions: Organizer of algebraic geometry symposia, member of the Japanese Mathematical Society (1983–2023), and invited speaker at international conferences in Japan, Brazil, Korea, and the U.S.
