Haitao Wang

Haitao Wang is an Associate Professor at the Kahlert School of Computing, University of Utah. Previously, he served at Utah State University (2012–2022) as a faculty member and as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Notre Dame (2010–2012). He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Notre Dame (2010), an M.S. from Fudan University (2006), and a B.S. in Mathematics from East China University of Science and Technology (2003).

His research focuses on computational geometry, algorithms, and theoretical computer science. He has extensive teaching experience, including courses on algorithms, models of computation, and computational geometry at the University of Utah and Utah State University. He has also served as a Teaching Assistant for algorithm design courses at Notre Dame.

Professionally, he chairs and serves on committees for major computational geometry conferences such as SoCG and FAW, and edits journals like Computing in Geometry and Topology and International Journal of Computational Geometry & Applications. His service roles include reviewing for top-tier journals (e.g., ACM Transactions on Algorithms, SIAM Journal on Computing) and conferences (e.g., SODA, SoCG).
