Hailiang Hu

Hailiang Hu is a tenure-track Associate Professor at Southern University of Science and Technology's School of Medicine. He holds a PhD in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Chinese Academy of Sciences and completed postdoctoral training at UCLA. His career includes roles at Duke University (Assistant Professor) and UCLA (Assistant Researcher/RAP) with grants from NIH, DoD, and California-based programs.

• Education: BS in Chemistry (Nankai University) and PhD in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (CAS)

Research Focus: DNA repair mechanisms, tumor metabolism reprogramming, and non-coding RNA roles in therapy-resistant GU cancers. His prostate cancer work explores castration resistance and neuroendocrine trans-differentiation, while iPSC studies address Ataxia-Telangiectasia neurodegeneration. Current projects target biomarker discovery and radiosensitizer development.
