Haig Armen

Haig Armen is a Professor leading the Interaction Design program at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver. His research focuses on music technology, gestural interfaces, data sonification, and design-led entrepreneurship using emerging technologies. He previously worked as a professional musician and composer, with a background in music and architecture.

Haig has designed interactive projects for clients like CBC, BMW, Chanel, and Nokia. He produced CBC Radio 3’s online magazine (2001–2005), earning international awards including the Webby Awards, Prix Italia, and Art Director’s Club of New York. His work bridges art, design, and technology, emphasizing creative thinking and tangible interactions.
