Haider Al-Juboori

Dr. Haider Al-Juboori serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Electronic Engineering and Communications at South East Technological University (SETU). With a distinguished academic background including dual PhDs in Optoelectronics Engineering Systems and Ultra-Fast Dynamics, he brings over 15 years of research experience in advanced optical technologies.

His educational journey includes a BSc (1st Hons), MSc, and PhD from Nahrain University in Baghdad (1996-2005), followed by a second PhD from University College Dublin and RWTH Aachen University (2016-2020). Prior to his current position, he conducted postdoctoral research at Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) and the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) in Germany.

Dr. Al-Juboori's research spans multiple cutting-edge domains including optoelectronics, laser system engineering, EUV/X-ray technologies, quantum computing education, and augmented reality applications. His work significantly contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education and technological advancement. His research fingerprint reveals strong expertise in plasma physics (both blood plasma and laser-produced plasma), engineering education, nanosecond technologies, plasma plume dynamics, and laser beam applications.

His recent publications demonstrate a clear trend toward interdisciplinary research combining laser technologies with environmental applications, satellite communications, and quantum computing education. The 2025-2024 publications particularly highlight his focus on AI-powered environmental monitoring using Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy, atmospheric turbulence effects on satellite communications, and essential competencies for the emerging quantum industry.

Dr. Al-Juboori maintains active professional engagement as Chair of multiple international networks including CA22148 (NEXT) and CA19110 (PlAgri), and as a member of The Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers. His recent activities include participation in the 22nd IFAC Conference on Technology, Culture and International Stability (2024) and a visiting research position at Institut Supérieur d'Electronique de Paris-ISEP (April-May 2024).

As an educator certified in PRINCE2 project management and Six Sigma methodologies, he integrates professional project management expertise with academic instruction, focusing on developing disruptive technologies in augmented reality applications and quantum computing education techniques.
