Dr. Haichun Sun is a Professor in the College of Education at the University of South Florida, specializing in physical education research and pedagogy since joining the faculty in 2007. She holds a doctoral degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland—College Park, where she also served as coordinator of the Curriculum and Instruction Laboratory.

Her research focuses on motivational dynamics in physical activity settings, particularly examining self-determination theory applications and situational interest mechanisms in children and adolescents.
