Haibo Zhai

Haibo Zhai is a Professor and Roy & Caryl Cline Distinguished Chair in Engineering at the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management, University of Wyoming. He also holds Adjunct Professor positions at Carnegie Mellon University’s Department of Engineering and Public Policy and the School of Energy Resources and School of Computing at UW. His research integrates technical, economic, and policy dimensions of low-carbon energy systems and environmental sustainability.

His work addresses decarbonization of fossil fuel infrastructure and sustainable energy transitions.

Publications: His recent articles examine hydrogen production, carbon capture, water management in power generation, and climate policy, reflecting his interdisciplinary approach to energy systems and environmental sustainability.

Laboratory: Dr. Zhai directs the Laboratory for Low-Carbon Energy and Environmental Sustainability, leading the development of the Integrated Environmental Control Model (IECM) for global power plant modeling and techno-economic assessment.
