Dr. Haibao Liu is an academic affiliated with the School of Engineering and Materials Science at Queen Mary University of London. He is a member of the Centre for Intelligent Transport and the Centre for Sustainable Engineering. His research focuses on composite materials, impact mechanics, and structural engineering, with a particular emphasis on fracture toughness, thermoplastic composites, and biomimetic design. Dr. Liu leads projects funded by the Royal Society and HFSP, including studies on bionic materials and sustainable packaging solutions.
His work spans experimental and computational analyses of composite behavior under various loading conditions, such as blast resilience, impact damage, and energy absorption. Key contributions include advancing modeling techniques for composites and investigating material properties through methods like digital image correlation and finite element analysis.
Dr. Liu collaborates extensively, publishing in high-impact journals like Thin-Walled Structures, Composites Part A, and International Journal of Mechanical Sciences. His research addresses challenges in aerospace materials, structural durability, and sustainable engineering solutions.
