Hai Dang Nguyen

Hai Dang Nguyen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Alabama (2022-present). Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor at the same institution (2018-2022). He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Wayne State University in 2018 and holds degrees in Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics from Wayne State University (2017) and Probability & Statistics from VNU Hanoi University of Science (2011).

His research focuses on Applied & Computational Mathematics, with specialization in control theory, stochastic processes, and systems theory. He has contributed to mathematical modeling and analysis in dynamical systems and probability.

Dr. Nguyen has received significant funding, including two NSF grants (DMS #2407668 and DMS #1853467). He has held visiting positions at the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications (University of Minnesota), Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics, and the University of Washington.

He serves as an Associate Editor for Nonlinear Analysis: Hybrid Systems and SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization Special Section, and has reviewed for over 20 prestigious journals, including IEEE Transactions and Journal of Differential Equations.
