Hadley Beresford

Dr Hadley Beresford is a Lecturer in Data, AI, and Society at the School of Information, Journalism and Communication, University of Sheffield, starting October 2024. He focuses on responsible and sustainable AI use in the public sector, integrating socio-technical frameworks like FATES to address algorithmic bias.

• Education: Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Social Science (2024) from The Sheffield Methods Institute

Research Interests:
Explores ethical challenges of AI in public governance, including discrimination, climate impact, and organizational integration of responsible AI practices. Collaborates with the UK Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) and AHRC-funded projects.

Professional Experience:
Prior roles include teaching visual scripting on the BA Games Design course at the University of South Wales (2013-2014) and industry experience as a Games Designer and Technical Artist.
