Hadas Mamane Steindel serves as Full Professor at Tel Aviv University's School of Mechanical Engineering since 2023, concurrently holding leadership roles as IUVA Vice-President for EMEA and UN IUVA Sustainable Development Goals Chair. She directs the Environmental Engineering Program and co-developed the Developing Countries MSc program with Social Sciences faculty.
Her academic credentials include a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (Technion, 1995), M.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Technion, 1999), and Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Duke University, 2005).
Professor Steindel's research pioneers sustainable water solutions through three core initiatives: UV-LED disinfection systems development, AI-driven water quality monitoring for resource-limited settings, and biodegradable membrane alternatives to plastic filtration. Her work bridges engineering innovation with practical applications in global water security.
