HUGUES KENFACK

Hugues Kenfack is a Professor of Private Law and the President of Toulouse Capitole University since November 2020. He spearheaded the transformation of the university into an experimental establishment (effective January 1, 2023) and was re-elected President on June 1, 2023. He holds a PhD in Law from Toulouse Capitole University (1996) and has served as an Agregé des Facultés de droit (2001).

His research focuses on domestic and international contract law, international trade law, arbitration, and mediation. He has authored seminal works in these fields and serves as a visiting professor at universities across the USA, China, Belgium, Poland, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, and Cameroon.

Kenfack is an international expert for the United Nations on international trade law and a certified arbitrator/mediator. He trains legal professionals at the Airbus Legal Academy and chairs professional bodies like the French Arbitration Committee. He has received the Officer of the Palmes Académiques and Knight of the Legion of Honor awards.

Key projects include establishing a law program in the Sino-French Institute Suzhou (with Renmin University of China) and an International Business Law Master’s program in Casablanca (with Université Mundiapolis). He oversees major research projects and curriculum development, including the Master 2 programs in Contract Law and International Jurisprudence.
