Prof. HO Chi Ming is an Associate Professor and Deputy Chair at the Department of Japanese Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Tsukuba (2003) and has dedicated his career to Japanese linguistics, language education, and intercultural communication. His academic journey includes a Master's in Linguistics from the University of Tsukuba (2000) and a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Arts from CUHK (1995).
Research Interests:
- Japanese compound verb acquisition by Hong Kong learners
- Intercultural communication strategies between Japanese and Hong Kong populations
- Corpus linguistics and media language analysis
- Cultural differences through linguistic perspectives
Selected Articles explore compound verb usage in corpora and media, intercultural dynamics in Japanese-Hong Kong companies, and pedagogical frameworks for Japanese language education. His work bridges theoretical linguistics with practical language teaching methodologies.
