Education:
- Diploma in Architecture, University of Innsbruck (2000)
- Doctorate in Architecture, University of Innsbruck (with distinction)
- Master of Engineering, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Germany (with distinction)
Research Interests: Focuses on the intersection of architecture, structural engineering, and geometry. Specializes in lightweight structures, self-organizing forms, and sustainable design methodologies. His 'fat-free-design' approach emphasizes intelligent, resource-efficient construction. Key areas include parametric design, material innovation (e.g., salvaged timber), and computational tools for architectural realization.
Recent Research Trends: Recent articles address structural behavior of materials (e.g., twisted plywood), algorithm-assisted façade design, and applications of AI in nuclear engineering. His work bridges theoretical research with practical innovations, emphasizing sustainability and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Awards & Grants:
- Recipient of Best Poster Award (2022)
- Principal Investigator for the EU-funded 'BuildDigiCraft' project (2019–2022)
Labs & Collaborations: Leads research pavilion projects and collaborates on exhibitions showcasing experimental architecture, such as '20x4Twist' and 'Collineation Grounds.' Active in international conferences and editorial roles, including reviewer for Architecture, Structures and Construction and Nuclear Engineering and Technology.
