Gülsün MEMİ

Gülsün MEMİ is an Associate Professor in the Department of Basic Medical Sciences at Adiyaman University Faculty of Medicine. She has previously held academic positions at Trakya University and Kirklareli University, with teaching experience spanning nursing and medical programs. Her career includes serving as Erasmus Coordinator (2016-2021) and Deputy Director of a Research and Application Center (2019-2021).

Dr. MEMİ's research focuses on gastrointestinal physiology, inflammation, and experimental models, particularly investigating peptide hormones like spexin, adropin, and obestatin. Her work examines how these peptides affect metabolic diseases, diabetes, cardiovascular function, and renal physiology using rat models. She has led multiple research projects on topics including the protective effects of spexin in diabetes-induced renal injury and the modulation of inflammation in chronic kidney failure.

Her publications show a clear trend toward investigating the therapeutic potential of peptide hormones in metabolic and inflammatory conditions.
