Göran Ståhle is an Associate Professor and Lecturer in Religious Studies at Södertörn University's Department of History and Contemporary Studies, where he also serves as Program Coordinator. He earned his PhD in 2004 with a thesis on cultural psychology perspectives in contemporary Hinduism.
His research explores interdisciplinary connections between religion, psychology, and health, with emphasis on:
- Cultural adaptation of Eastern traditions (e.g., Ayurveda) in Western health contexts
- Psychology of religious/spiritual practices
- Contemporary expressions of Hinduism and secular worldviews
- Health impacts of unorganized spirituality
He currently collaborates with the Integrative Care Science Centre on a project examining Ayurveda's implementation in Sweden.
