Gábor Nándor Tolnai is a Lecturer at the Department of Social and Economic Geography within the Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences at Eötvös Loránd University. His work focuses on urban geographic research, particularly in post-socialist urban development and spatial analysis.
Research Interests: Specializing in Urban Geography, Tolnai employs GIS and photogrammetry to study riverfront renewal, brownfield redevelopment, and environmental changes in urban railway areas. His projects often emphasize post-socialist urban characteristics and functional transformations in Budapest.
Selected Publications include analyses of Budapest's riverfront renewal (2018), functional changes along the Danube (2018), brownfield zone evolution via GIS (2015), and urban railway area assessments (2012). His methodology combines historical aerial photography with modern geospatial tools.
