Gülbin Fidan is an Assistant Professor in the Handicraft Department (Carpets and Rugs Program) at Gaziantep University's Naci Topçuoğlu Vocational School. She earned her PhD in Textile Engineering from Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University (2016-2022) and holds two bachelor's degrees in Textile Engineering from Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University (1998-2002) and Gaziantep University (2009-2016). Prior to academia, she accumulated 13 years of industrial experience as a Quality Control Chief and Operations Manager in textile manufacturing firms.
Her research focuses on textile engineering innovations, particularly: yarn technology, carpet durability optimization, polymer fiber performance, and weaving techniques. She investigates factors influencing material resilience in industrial textiles, including filament fineness, additive ratios, and structural densities.
Publications emphasize empirical analysis of textile performance under mechanical stress, with recurring themes in polypropylene/polyester optimization, yarn production methods, and quality benchmarking. Recent work explores industrial applications of modified fibers in carpet manufacturing.
Administratively, she served as Department Head (2020-2022). Her extensive teaching portfolio includes 122 vocational courses covering yarn technology, quality control, occupational safety, and textile laboratory techniques.
Research project involvement includes "Investigation of PES Fiber Performance in Carpet Production" (2019-2021). No awards or student advisements are documented.
