Gwendoline Aaron

Gwendoline Aaron serves as Teaching Professor of French and Coordinator of Intermediate French within the Department of World Languages and Literatures at Southern Methodist University's Dedman College, where she has taught since 1999.

Her educational background includes a Master of Science in Education Sciences earned with honors from Belgium's Université de Liège and a Master of Arts in French from the University of North Texas, which also honored her as Outstanding Alumnus.

Professor Aaron specializes in French language pedagogy with research spanning didactic methodologies for first/second language acquisition, technology integration in language education, and assessment frameworks. She has spearheaded significant curriculum modernization including complete revision of beginning/intermediate French sequences and development of the department's inaugural online language course through collaboration with Academic Technology Services.

Her teaching extends across diverse contexts including Belgium, Texas, and Louisiana's French development initiatives, covering courses from Beginning French I (both traditional and online formats) through Advanced French instruction.
