Gwendal Latouche is a Senior Research Engineer at Université Paris-Saclay, affiliated with the Plant Biophotonics team within the Écologie, Société et Évolution (ESE) laboratory. His work focuses on biospectroscopy and optical diagnostics for plant health monitoring.
- Education: PhD in Molecular Biophysics from P. & M. Curie University, France; graduated from ESPCI Paris.
His research centers on plant-light interactions, particularly using leaf autofluorescence and spectral properties of phenolic compounds to develop non-invasive diagnostic tools for grapevine diseases like downy mildew. Recent publications highlight applications of fluorescence in agricultural science, plant pathology, and sensor technology. He has contributed to patents in optical sensing for viticulture, including devices for chlorophyll and stilbenoid detection. Collaborations span molecular bio-physics, plant physiology, and agricultural analytics.
