Gwen Grosso, R.D.H., M.S., is an Assistant Professor in the Allied Health Department at the School of Health Sciences, University of New Haven. With 24 years in academia and 35 years as a practicing hygienist, she teaches courses like Pharmacology, Pain Management, Periodontology, and Communication for Health Professionals at both associate and baccalaureate levels. She also coordinates UNH’s junior clinic and developed a Local Anesthesia certification course aligned with the Connecticut Dental Hygiene Practice Act.

- B.S. in Dental Hygiene from University of New Haven
- M.S. in Education from University of Bridgeport
Her research focuses on dental hygiene education, clinical pharmacology, and the intersection of oral health with systemic conditions like metabolic syndrome. She emphasizes practical training, patient communication, and public health integration in her work.
Grosso’s publications span clinical practice guides, interdisciplinary health research, and anesthesia techniques, reflecting her expertise in dental education and patient care. She has collaborated with institutions such as Old Dominion University and the University of Maryland to deliver professional training.
