Professor Guy Johnson is an Honorary Professor of Urban Housing and Homelessness at RMIT University's School of Global, Urban and Social Studies (GUSS). He specializes in precarious housing, homelessness policy, and service systems, with over three decades of practitioner and research experience. His work integrates longitudinal studies, randomized controlled trials, and qualitative methods to address housing insecurity and inform policy.
Key roles include Director of the Unison Housing Research Lab and Visiting Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania (2015). He has authored/co-authored over 80 reports, papers, and book chapters, and advised government committees and NGOs like The Salvation Army and HomeGround Services. His research focuses on homelessness dynamics, tenancy management, and sustainable housing solutions.
