Gusztáv Jakab

Gusztáv Jakab is a Habil. Associate Professor at the Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences, affiliated with the Department of Environmental and Landscape Geography and Center of Geography at Eötvös Loránd University. His research focuses on paleoenvironmental studies, environmental history, and landscape geography across Central and Eastern Europe.

He has contributed extensively to understanding Holocene climate variability, vegetation dynamics, and human-environment interactions through studies on peatlands, marshes, and historical ecosystems. His recent work includes climate reconstruction techniques, AI-driven landscape visualization, and functional plant trait databases.
