Gustavo Palacios

Gustavo Palacios is a distinguished virologist with over 20 years of experience in the study of emerging infectious diseases. He is a professor in the Department of Microbiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a member of the Global Health and Emerging Pathogens Institute. He previously served as Director of Foundational Sciences at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) and worked at the Center for Infection and Immunity at Columbia University. He has published extensively in top-tier scientific journals and is known for his work on the genetic makeup of viruses and their emergence and transmission.
