Gustaf Forsell is a Senior Lecturer in Church History and Mission History at Uppsala University, with a research focus on Scandinavian fascism, religion-politics intersections, and racial ideologies. He is affiliated with the Centre for Multidisciplinary Studies on Racism (CEMFOR).
Research Interests: Forsell specializes in the historical entanglement of Christianity and fascism in Sweden (1925-1945), the evolution of "German Belief" during the interwar period, and the transnational influence of racial ideology on religious movements like the KKK and British postwar fascism. His work also explores esoteric fascism and mythical narratives such as Atlantis in Nordic contexts.
Recent Publications (2025-2017): Forsell's articles analyze themes spanning race psychology, Nordic racial conceptions, and the religious dimensions of fascist movements. His 2024 monograph Blodet och korset examines Christian national socialist thought in Sweden, while 2022's contribution to Nordic Fascism investigates esoteric fascism and mythical origins.
