Gurbet Peker is a doctoral student at Uppsala University's Campus Gotland, affiliated with the Department of Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology. Her research focuses on multispecies relationships, tourism, cultural heritage, and urban-rural dynamics.
Current projects explore the symbolic, practical, and identity-creating meanings of the Gotland sheep in shaping Gotland as a tourist destination. Her work intersects material culture studies with spatial analysis and heritage research.
