Guofang Wei

Guofang Wei is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). She holds a PhD from Stony Brook University (1989) and a B.S. from Zhejiang University (1985). Her research focuses on global Riemannian geometry, exploring interactions between curvature and topology, including topics like comparison geometry, integral curvature bounds, and eigenvalue analysis of the Laplacian. She has been continuously supported by NSF grants since 1994.

Research Interests: Differential geometry and geometric analysis, with emphasis on global Riemannian geometry, curvature-topology interactions, eigenvalue problems, and applications to general relativity.

Advising & Grants: Currently advising PhD students Jihye Lee, Fabio Ricci, Malik Tuerkoen, and Yusen Xia. Maintains continuous NSF funding since 1994. Editorial roles include the Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society (2014–2022), Journal of Topology and Analysis (2019–present), and Annals of Global Analysis and Geometry (2020–present).
