Gunter Bombaerts

Gunter Bombaerts serves as Associate Professor in the Philosophy & Ethics group within the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His academic profile bridges philosophy of technology with practical engineering applications, focusing particularly on ethical dimensions of technological systems.

His research interests span applied ethics, engineering ethics education, system phenomenology, attention economy, Buddhist ethics, and value theory. Bombaerts examines how philosophical frameworks can inform technology design and implementation, with particular emphasis on attention practices, value-sensitive design, and the integration of ethical considerations into engineering education.
